Job summary This job could become permanent for the right candidate.Eight sessions per week required.As a newly qualified GP within 2years of qualification, you will undertake a variety of duties governed by theGMS contract to include:In person consultations.Telephone consultations.Visiting patients at home and in nursing homes.Checking and signing repeat prescriptions.Dealing with queries, paperwork andcorrespondence as required.All aspects of clinical administration.Contribute to new ideas and be part of thePractice Team.
Main duties of the job Take accountability for the highest standardsand professional decision making in relation to presenting problems, whetherself-referred or referred from other health care workers across the practice /PCN.Screen patients for disease risk factors andearly signs of illness.Cover all the clinical management of thepatients in surgery as appropriate including initiating investigations,reviewing results, making referrals to secondary care or to other providers asappropriate.Develop care and treatment plans in consultationwith patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols aswell wider guidance such as that from NICE.Ensure appropriate follow up of patients.Record clear and immediate consultation notes toagreed standards within clinical systems.Actively participate in clinical audits,learning events and practice meetings, within a culture of continuousimprovement.Compile and issue computer-generated acute andrepeat prescriptions avoiding hand-written prescriptions.Prescribe generically whenever appropriately andin accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary, NICE guidance and GoodPrescribing Practice (as defined by British National Formulary guidance).Work with and provide support for other membersof the primary health care team & Federation.Play a lead role in the practice achievingagreed and other key performance indicator targets as shaped by the ClinicalDirector and Federation team.
About us We are an innovative andvibrant General Practice Surgery situated in a new purpose built Hub based inthe heart of Gorton.
This Hub offersGorton Medical Centre to offer an increase in the number of clinical roomswhich will allow us to recruit more healthcare professionals and members ofstaffso that we can offer a wider range of services.We hope to be able to offer arange of other servicesand work collaboratively with other services basedat the Hub.
We have a registered list of around 10,000 patients.
