Job summary

NTGP has a fantastic opportunity for a salaried GP to join our multi-disciplinary team. The position will require GP sessions from both locations (on different days). We are flexible with sessions available and looking for a GP to cover 4-6 sessions a week.

The essential eligibility criteria for this role is candidate having CCT date within 2 years of application for this post & not having held a substantive post before. The position is a fixed term contract for six months. At the end of fixed term, it will be a rolling contract which renews every month based on mutual agreement.

You will be consulting with patients using face to face, telephone & via e-consultation methods. Our practice provides a total triage service for all our patients, this will include duty doctor days and home visits on a rota basis.

You will be responsible for the provision of medical services to our patient population managing a caseload dealing with a wide range of health needs. You will be supporting & supported by the wide range of clinical and non-clinical team within the practice.

Main duties of the job

To act at all times in accordance with the precepts of the GMC's Good Medical Practice.

To assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.

To screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.

To provide counselling and health education as appropriate.

To record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.

To prescribe, in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary, all local and national guidelines, appropriately for the presenting condition.

To provide support for other clinicians such as nurses, nurse practitioners and health care assistants including the signing of prescriptions where appropriate.

About us

We are large forward thinking practice of 15,000+ patients, providing quality healthcare and outcomes for our patients in the North Trafford area. We operate from two sites Chester Road and Seymour Grove.

The team at NTGP comprises of 3 GP Partners, 8 Salaried GPs, 2 Physician Associates, 2 Pharmacists, 1 FCP and 5 Nursing staff along with non-clinical team of 30+ staff led by the Business Manager.

Our practices have been rated as Good by CQC and we take pride in delivering quality care to our patients and have a strong training and personal development ethos. We are part of North Trafford Primary Care Network one of the partners is the Clinical Director.

We are using EMIS Web and DOCMAN as our clinical system along with Ask My GP to provide digital platform to our patients.

Clinical Description

Provide safe, evidence-based, cost-effective, individualised patient care within the surgery, patients own home or other environment where patient care is carried out Recording clear and contemporaneous based consultation notes to agreed standards Clinically examine and assess patient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective, and plan clinical care accordingly referring patients to other services/agencies in a timely manner, utilising Practice, PCN and local guidelines. To recognize the need for and be able to perform and interpret investigatory procedures, including laboratory and radiology. Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care. Ensure appropriate follow up of patients Support patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote healthy lifestyles and apply principles of self-care Support the delivery of anticipatory care plans Recognise and work within your own competence and in accordance with professional codes of conduct, maintaining accurate and contemporaneous health records Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions Review medications following the appropriate policies, NICE/local clinical guidelines and local care pathways. Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety and QOF standards. Be aware of your duties and responsibilities regarding current legislation and adhere to our policies and procedures on Safeguarding Children and Safeguarding Adults.

You will have access to confidential information relating to patients and their Carers, practice staff and other healthcare workers. Patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters. They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately Information relating to patients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or the business of the practice may only be divulged to authorised persons in accordance with the practice policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data
