This is a non-training post, however, it allows thepost holder, including applicants who already hold CCT, to gain experience thatwill help to secure future posts.
About us Since2020 LTHT has been one of three regional referral centres in the North ofEngland for the management of Placenta Accreta Spectrum (PAS) complex obstetricsurgery.
The PAS team receive referrals from a large geographical area coveringmost of Yorkshire & Humber.
The diagnostic service is led by fetal medicineconsultant Dr Colette Sparey and the surgical service is run by Mr DileepWijeratne and Miss Lydia Coade.
We also work very closely with colleagues fromAnaesthesia, Interventional Radiology, Gynae Oncology, Neonates and Pathology.

We also work very closely with colleagues fromAnaesthesia, Interventional Radiology, Gynae Oncology, Neonates and Pathology.A fellow working with our team would have the following opportunities: 1) Development of generic skills in complexobstetric surgery which are applicable to a wide range of situations, not justPAS.
2) Exposure to diagnostic ultrasound scanning for PAS.
3) Participation inthe analysis of almost 5 years of PAS outcome data with a view to publication.4) Helping with the development of educational materials for patients andclinicians focussing on both PAS and the generic surgical management of massiveobstetric haemorrhage.
Thepost would be ideally suited for someone who wishes to work in a PAS centre inthe future or to lead on undertaking other complex obstetric surgical cases inthe DGH setting.
