Job summary Head of Service for Talking Therapies: Consultant Lead Clinical/Counselling Psychologist at Outstanding NHS Trust: Band 8D, hours/weekBerkshire Healthcare delivers award winning Talking Therapies, for anxiety and depression services, commissioned by the BOB and Frimley ICBs.
This is an exciting role for an experienced Consultant Clinical/ Counselling Psychologist to lead our successful and innovative clinical and digital Talking Therapies provision.
The role offers opportunities for service development, and we are seeking an exceptional individual who will work directly with service teams and stakeholders to take this flagship service forward under the new government initiatives.
You will join a supportive and enthusiastic senior leadership team and be part of a strong collaborative network of psychological leads across the organisation.Interviews will take place on 13th December 2024.
Main duties of the job Overall responsibility for the clinical, operational and professional standards in Talking Therapies, ensuring that the service meets key performance indicators and has effective clinical, quality and performance governance, including digital systems and processes, in line with accreditation requirements.
Leading the development of Talking Therapies to maximise its contribution, ensuring developments are aligned with Trust, local systems and national strategy, policy and practice drivers.
Developing and operationally managing the Trust delivery model for the national Talking Therapies strategy, within the Frimley ICS, BOB ICS and wider system partners.
This will include new business, relevant clinical developments (including therapeutic models and delivery modalities) and Talking Therapies long term expansion.

Person Specification Education/Qualifications/Training Essential Post graduate doctoral qualification in clinical/counselling psychology (or approved equivalent for those who trained prior to 1996), which provides eligibility for Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS) Registered and accredited with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical / Counselling Psychologist, and preferably with DCP/DCoP and/or ACP.
Evidence of post-doctoral specialist training in at least two areas of psychological practice directly related to the clinical requirements for this post.
Evidence of substantial post-doctoral training, experience, and knowledge as a recognised expert in psychological models and approaches in the area of specialism.
Accreditations to reflect post qualification specialist training ( BABCP).
Clinical supervision training for psychology trainees and qualified staff.
Management qualification or equivalent level of substantial expertise in managing services.
Leadership training or equivalent level of substantial expertise.
Training and/or proven ability in providing effective education, consultation and coaching to develop and support others.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Essential Has expert knowledge of: - psychological models and approaches, relevant legislation, policy, and professional guidance, risk assessment processes, clinical governance principles, evidence based practice, research methodology and data analysis.
Skills in identifying, differentiating, and formulating a wide range of complex psychological presentations.
Ability to recommend, deliver, and oversee the provision of psychological treatment approaches and interventions appropriate to service users' needs.
Proven ability to collaborate closely with senior management and clinical teams, system partners, commissioners, and with leads across psychological professions and specialties, to develop and deliver relevant services and high-quality clinical care.
Skills in providing consultation, delivering teaching and training, facilitating groups, and chairing meetings.
Advanced IT skills and the ability to navigate around various systems (such as RiO, MS Office and TEAMS, and the internet) Ability to develop and use complex multi-media materials for presentations in public, professional and academic settings.
Additional Requirements Essential Demonstrates a flexible approach to working practices and mobility for delivery of service.
Able to work flexibly as required (including on call, if required) and to travel independently between locations to fulfil the requirements and duties of the position.
