Estimator - Construction & Civil Engineering

As Estimator - Construction and Civil Engineering you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates and budgets for Construction and civil engineering projects and similar works within projects.
Your expertise and experience working with or for a main contractor will be crucial in ensuring that our bids are both competitive and profitable.
You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive estimates that reflect the true scope and costs of our projects.
Essential: Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or; A minimum of 3 years of experience as an estimator in the civil engineering sector, preferably with a main contractor.
Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, CostX, or similar) and MS Office Suite.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable: Professional Engineer (PE) license, Certified Professional Estimator (CPE), RICS or similar.
Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to gather input and ensure accurate estimates.
Perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis for various civil engineering projects.
Conduct site visits to gather necessary information and assess project conditions.
Coordinate with procurement and subcontracting teams to obtain quotes and negotiate prices.
Develop detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
Prepare and present detailed estimate reports to senior management.
Identify potential risks and opportunities within project estimates.
Stay updated with industry trends, cost fluctuations, and new technologies that impact cost estimation.
Utilise estimating software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and tender submissions.
Review and evaluate project budgets and schedules to ensure alignment with estimates.
