Main duties of the job You will be responsible for the accurate and timely coding of NHS and private clinical activity and support the continuous improvement of Clinical Coding for Sulis Hospital Bath, using coding tools in line with the ICD-10 and OPCS-4 classifications and national standards.
Qualified coders with the Nationally Accredited Clinical Coder Qualification (ACC) are desirable; however non-ACC candidates with suitable experience will also be considered.

Job description Job responsibilities This role is primarily remote and supports homeworking, however, you may need to come onsite when required.
This role will mainly involve working autonomously, using your own initiative to prioritise and complete a variable workload, as part of a small team.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Trained and experienced Clinical Coder, supported by certification.
Attended a Clinical coding standards Refresher within the last 3 years Good general level of education Willing to attend all necessary training and Clinical Coding workshops A detailed understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology Ability to work on own, planning and organising workload to meet deadlines Experience in the use of Microsoft Office products, including EXCEL A minimum of 3 years working in an acute trust Desirable NHS Accredited Clinical Coder qualification Experience of coding a wide variety of specialties, to include all surgical specialties.
Good understanding of HRGs Experience of liaising with Clinicians and other clinical staff Use of 3M Medicode encoder or other relevant coding support software Use of Compucare8 (CC8) patient administration system
