Research Recruitment Facilitator
We are looking for an enthusiastic Research Recruitment Facilitator to join our team at the Research and Development department (R&D) at the Warneford site.
Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is a research-active Trust undertaking studies ranging from small educational projects through to very complex and intensive Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products (CTIMPS) across a variety of disciplines from dementia, mental health, community health, children and young people services.
You will work closely with the Count Me in project and Research delivery team leads within R&D and be responsible for patient engagement and recruitment of studies across the trust. This will involve the recruitment, education, and monitoring of the program and research studies, including the collection and documentation of confidential data. You will work collaboratively with the wider multi-disciplinary team in the management of your own caseload. The role involves using an in-depth knowledge of research protocols and their application in practice, alongside a working knowledge and compliance with the local, national and international research regulations. As a research recruitment facilitator, you will be proactive in patient record management, maintaining quality around research. The post will include data responsibilities, including running reports and audits.
Oxford Health is a great place to work and to be able to showcase the best of yourself when making an application you are encouraged to read the "candidate guide to making an application" which is attached to all roles. Please include details around qualifications (including years these were gained particularly if we need to assess for clinical roles that these are still valid) and ensure that the supporting statement is tailored to the role you are applying for and addresses the essential criteria found in the JD.
As a Trust we provide physical, mental health and social care for people of all ages across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Swindon, Wiltshire, Bath and North East Somerset. Our services are delivered at community bases, hospitals, clinics and people's homes, delivering care as close to home as possible. Our vision is that no matter who you are or where you are, you will tell us that you receive: "Outstanding care delivered by an outstanding team."
Our values are: "Caring, safe and excellent."
At Oxford Health we offer a wide range of benefits designed to support your career and wellbeing. These include:
Excellent opportunities for career progression. Individual and Trust wide learning and development. 27 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, rising to 33 days with continuous service. NHS Discount. Pension scheme. Lease car scheme. Employee Assistance Programme. Mental Health First Aiders. Staff accommodation (waiting lists may apply). Staff networking and support groups. A part of this role will focus on promoting patient recruitment into the 'Count me in project'. This novel approach was launched in August 2021 after studies showed that asking clinical staff to collect research contact consent was resulting in a low uptake from patients, and that both staff and patients favoured an approach that allowed all patients to be contacted about relevant research unless they have opted out. Early signs are that 'Count me in' is having a very positive impact on the way research participants are recruited at OHFT.
Within the role you will be responsible for the below, please review the attached job description and person specification for a full overview of the role responsibilities:
Provide ongoing information, education, and support to patients (and their carers, where applicable) regarding recruitment into research studies across OHFT. Communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of staff within the department, as well as across other departments, the trust, and external companies such as Clinical Research Organisations and pharmaceutical companies. Following training and competency assessment – obtain informed consent from participants to research studies, as necessary. Provide oversight and guidance to the R&D team regarding recruitment and manage any organisational issues that may arise. #J-18808-Ljbffr
