Research Promotion and Engagement Develop and deliver an action plan for targeted engagement with Primary Care organisations. This will include working closely with practices to raise awareness of the importance and benefits of NIHR research via a range of communication methods including attending practice meetings, workshops and webinars. To actively promote the value of research, develop good working relationships with primary care services and staff (includes ICSs, LAs, PCNs) and maintain a working knowledge of local primary care services. Work with portfolio manager/s and comms team to develop and implement both research engagement strategies (Trusts, Community Trusts, PPI, research champions) and strategies overcoming barriers to engagement.

To work in conjunction with the Primary Care Portfolio Manager and Research Facilitator team to raise the profile of NIHR CRN TVSM within the locality and promote support we can provide. Networking and attending primary care events/meetings with primary care healthcare professionals and NIHR CRN TVSM staff Promote and encourage research naive practices to take part in light-touch research opportunities research Develop and deliver a community action plan for the engagement of stakeholders, partners and community leaders to raise awareness of primary care research. Specifically increase uptake to primary care research from under-served communities and other disadvantaged groups working alongside the CRN TV&SM Communications team. Have excellent knowledge of clinical trial lifecycle and be confident in speaking to a variety of audiences To review and develop promotional materials to raise awareness of primary care research Education and Training To become an expert in training on topics that are relevant to the delivery of NIHR research studies.

To maintain an up to date knowledge of research related topics particularly related to clinical trials and the activities of the CRN To attend local and national meetings as appropriate and as agreed with the Primary Care Portfolio Manager To assist in orientating and inducting new staff To act as a role model, mentor and preceptor to the network team Research Delivery To act as a resource and support to primary care sites and other primary care practitioners involved in the identification and recruitment of patients to NIHR studies using project management methodologies and tools Providing feedback to study teams if there are engagement issues or other barriers to recruitment To liaise with study teams, GP Research Champions and CRN nurse team (if applicable) to facilitate the delivery of primary care recruitment within NIHR CRN TVSM to agreed timelines and targets. This includes providing expert guidance on appropriate primary care recruitment strategies and calculating study resource needs, particularly with regards to proposed primary care service support activities Work with academic partners to develop and prepare Research Information Sheets for Practices (RISPs) for prospective studies To be responsible for maintaining communication channels with all participating members of each study team Administration Update local database and run reports to support with practice engagement activities/projects Project Management Support and lead on the delivery of specific internal projects which align with the strategic objectives. Liaise with internal teams and/or external shareholders in order to deliver projects which require input from various teams. Keep accurate and timely records of engagement activity, Inform NIHR stakeholders and contribute to progress updates at meetings Develop tools and resources as required to enable the team to work efficiently Other To work flexibly with other members of the NIHR CRN TVSM team and/or practices and other primary care professionals to ensure the delivery of a coordinated, professional service To keep up to date with all new developments within the Network and develop own skills and competencies To report any specific concerns to the Primary Care Portfolio Manager To maintain patient confidentiality and standards of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) at all times To travel as required across Thames Valley and South Midland Clinical Research Network To understand and adhere to Trust policies and procedures Contribute ideas and suggestions to our quarterly e-newsletter Maintain a shared team calendar
