We look forward to welcoming you to our teamSelected applicants will be allocated their Band role (4/5) based on their academic background and employment historyBand 5 - £29970Band 4 - £26530 Main duties of the job Diagnostic and Rehabilitative Care:Independently perform diagnostic audiological procedures for adults and older children.Analyze and interpret diagnostic and rehabilitative test results, including pediatric cases.Manage rehabilitative caseloads with care plans and direct referrals.Select and prescribe hearing aids tailored to individual needs.Ensure hearing aid systems are effective and meet patient criteria.Make appropriate referrals for cases beyond your scope.Professional Development and Collaboration:Develop skills and knowledge by collaborating with senior audiology staff.Support innovation and necessary changes with a growth-oriented mindset.Patient and Clinic Management:Travel to locality clinics and conduct domiciliary visits.Manage time effectively in a high-pressure environment.Make autonomous clinical decisions in line with Chime's values and standards.Provide holistic support for patients managing hearing loss.Supervision and Mentoring:Supervise and mentor audiology trainees.Adapt to schedule changes to support colleagues.Administrative Responsibilities:Maintain appropriate stock levels and report accurately.Take responsibility for professional development.Undertake additional duties as requested by the MD or team lead.Maintain a positive working environment in line with Chime's values.

Reporting to the Adult Service Lead, this role can be Band 4 or 5, depending on qualifications and registration status.
The Audiologist will function autonomously, managing direct referrals from primary and secondary care for both adults and children.
Key responsibilities include planning and conducting diagnostic and rehabilitative regimes, interpreting test results, and recommending appropriate actions.
They will ensure the effectiveness of hearing aid systems, make onward referrals when necessary, and support patients in managing their hearing loss.
The role involves continuous professional development and may include MSc level STP education.
The Audiologist will travel to locality clinics and make domiciliary visits, often working independently in small clinics.
They are expected to supervise audiology trainees, manage stock usage, and maintain a harmonious working environment.
Communication is a critical aspect, involving interaction with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals, conveying complex information in a patient-friendly manner.
The role requires precise audiological skills, such as hearing testing and hearing aid fitting, and involves physical tasks like carrying equipment.
Emotional resilience is essential, as the Audiologist will work with patients who may have challenging behavior or serious illnesses.
The working conditions can be challenging, including exposure to unclean environments and noisy machinery.
The Audiologist must comply with Chimes Infection Control Policies and take responsibility for their health and wellbeing, engaging with Occupational Health and following the organizations health vision.
This role requires a DBS check due to access to vulnerable adults and children.

To develop IT skills to keep abreast of changes in within clinical audiology and administration within the department.
Qualifications Essential For Band 5 applicants: BSc (Hons) Audiology (or equivalent) RCCP or HCPC Registration independently assessed as BSc Hons equivalent when eligible to apply BAAT 1 & II professional theory and competence examinations In-house continuous training and experience Able to demonstrate a good command of the English language A BSC in Audiology for 2006 entrants or BTEC National Certificate in MPPM BAATS Part 1 & 2 UK Driving License Experience Essential EXPERIENCE Adult Diagnostic Audiometry Adult Tympanometry Speech Audiometry Real Ear Measurement Impression Taking Earmould modifications Adult Fitting & Rehabilitation Knowledge/ Skills Essential Good communication skills IT skills A knowledge of all NHS and digital models of hearing aids A practical knowledge of clinical Audiology and hearing aid technology.
