Job summary PLEASE NOTE WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY NHS WALES The post holder will support the Committee Secretary & Associate Director of Corporate Services in delivering an effective and efficient corporate services support function within the NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee (NWJCC).
The Corporate Services Manager will: Provide operational management support to NWJCC, Develop and implement business plans, projects, change initiates, Carry out business performance monitoring and reporting, Manage and develop the Corporate Support staff.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
This post is fixed term/ secondment for 12 months due to secondment you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.
Main duties of the job Through a mixture of internal expertise and external service providers, you will manage the platform of processes to produce our best performance, including: Human resources management which will involve organisation redesign/change management, Facilities management, Business Continuity planning, Maintaining and planning IT support, Providing corporate communication and marketing support to substantive teams, Legal and regulatory compliance, Providing support to teams across NWJCC, Health, Safety & Environment, Complaints and public affairs, Information Governance, including FOI management; and External processes such as Public Inquiries and Investigations.
On a daily basis the post holder will work closely with Senior Leadership Team, Heads of Department and specialised functions, providing corporate services support to the organisation.
The post holder will be responsible for: Supporting the Head of Corporate Services to ensure that a professional and efficient corporate support function is provided to NWJCC, Line management of staff within the corporate services function; and Managing the Headquarters site facilities.
The post holder will act a source of expertise on corporate services and legal and regulatory compliance.
The post holder will deputise for the Associate Director of Corporate Services as appropriate.

Person Specification Qualifications and/or Knowledge Essential Educated to Degree level or relevant equivalent experience in relation to Board Business activity, plus further management experience or training to Postgraduate Diploma level or equivalent.
Professional operational service delivery and business management knowledge to degree equivalent plus further management experience or training to Postgraduate Diploma level or equivalent.
Knowledge of Corporate service support functions.
Knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework for public sector organisations in relation to corporate services.
Understanding of the use of new communication technologies and their potential.
Understanding of budgetary and financial management.
Desirable CIPD Qualification.
Project management knowledge and experience.
Experience Essential Experience of working effectively in a manager level capacity to support a corporate body that provides.
Experience of report writing at Board level.
Delivering business support and administrative resources.
Experience in a management position in a large complex organisation.
Experience of managing teams / people management / influencing skills.
Aptitude and Abilities Essential Able to demonstrate situations where effective management skills have been used.
Able to demonstrate tact and diplomacy when working with others.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with managers and staff at all levels.
Ability to work without supervision or guidance using own initiative to solve complex multi-stranded problems.
Ability to deal with complex, sensitive situations assessing and recommending courses of action.
Excellent IT and keyboard skills.
Ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
Ability to deal with stressful/ emotional situations on a regular basis such as those that can occur when counselling, disciplining staff or processing grievances or organisational issues.
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and to work under pressure to meet regular deadlines.
Ability to work flexibly.
Desirable Ability to speak Welsh.
