**About you**
- Professionally qualified member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators or a willingness to undertake the qualification.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Experience of working in a similar role in a complex organisation.
- Significant experience of working with Boards, Executive Teams and Senior Leaders.
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiating skills with a collaborative management style
- Excellent report writing skills including presentation to Board, Committees and external audiences
- Demonstrable experience of leading Risk and Governance teams
- Demonstrable experience of working effectively working with key internal and external stakeholders

**What you’ll do**

As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will:

- Lead a diverse team covering governance, internal audit, risk, and regulatory functions.
- Ensure we have a robust and effective Assurance framework in place that delivers first class assurance to all stakeholders.
- Be responsible for the day-to-day management of the internal audit contract, working with the Assurance Committee to deliver a rolling three year plan.
- Deputise for the Executive Director - Resources in their absence on matters relating to Governance, Assurance and Risk in accordance with the Scheme of Delegations.
- Attend the Corporate Directors meetings to give advice on Assurance, Governance and Risk matters as required.
- Assist the Corporate Director - Finance in delivering the Value for Tenant framework and workstream.
- Be a key contact for the Chair of Assurance Committee on all internal audit and assurance matters.
- Ensure positive promotion of Trivallis as a Community Mutual.
- Create an environment that supports innovation and staff empowerment.
- Ensure all actions align to the delivery of the vision.
- In your role as a budget holder, ensure robust financial management across all areas of responsibility.
- Support and promote a culture of empowerment to improve service delivery and the employee experience, ensuring the customer is at the centre of all decisions.
- Work with your peer team of heads of service to deliver the corporate and business objectives.
- Assist the Senior Leadership team to develop a performance culture.
- Live the values of the organisation.

**What you’ll be responsible for**

In your role of Deputy Company Secretary - ensure that all legal, regulatory, and statutory requirements of the organisation are fulfilled to the highest standards.
- Delivering an insurance strategy and polices that reflect our risk appetite.
- Assisting the Executive Director - Resources with the development of the Risk Strategy and Risk Management Framework, ensuring that as an organisation we are compliant with all aspects of our Risk Management Framework.
- Developing, monitoring and complying with our Policy Framework.
- Ensuring that Internal audit recommendations are managed and reported to the Assurance Committee.
- Working with the Executive Director - Resources to develop and implement the Governance and Assurance team plan.
- Overseeing the timely production and quality of all Board and Committee papers ensuring the process and systems utilised are effective.
- Providing advice and support to the Boards and Committees, ensuring that Board members are properly advised regarding their legal duties and responsibilities, you will inform and support best practice, ensuring proper and efficient communication is maintained and the flow of information is clear to enable them to fulfil their duties.
- Responsible for corporate record keeping, completion and return of statutory filings and updating of statutory registers.
- Assisting the Executive Director - Resources on the regulatory self-assessment return to ensure a robust outcome-based evaluation and identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Review all relevant legislative, regulatory and corporate governance developments that might affect the organisation’s operations and ensure the Board and Committees are fully briefed.
- Support the Executive Director - Resources to ensure all key governance documents are regularly updated and reflect best practice.
