Deputy Guardian Of Safe Medical Working

Job overview We are recruiting for a Deputy Guardian of Safe Medical Working Hours at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.As part of the implementation of the National Terms and Conditions of Service (T&Cs) for junior doctors, the OUH has an appointed Guardian of Safe Working Hours.
This Deputy Guardian post ( PA) will provide additional support to the Guardian and Junior Doctors to ensure that issues of compliance with safe working hours are addressed, as they arise, with the doctor and/or Trust.
Main duties of the job The Guardian will be a senior person, independent of the management structure within the Trust, responsible for protecting the safeguards outlined in the terms and conditions of service.
As a medical or dental practitioner, you will be a Consultant or an Associate Specialist and you will possess knowledge and understanding of the terms and conditions of doctors in training and of Working Time Regulations and safe working patterns and rotas/working patterns for doctors in training.
In the role of the Deputy Guardian, you will remain independent from the line management arrangements to ensure you have the confidence of doctors in training and will work closely with the Guardian to provide accountability on the safe working of Junior Doctors to the Trust Board.
The successful applicant will have good leadership skills, inspiring others to achieve results and collaborate.
The post will require you to be sensitive to conflicting information, be able to analyse situations and work with the Guardian to identify solutions.
Good facilitation, interpersonal, and negotiation skills are also required.
