Job Title: Bids & Proposals ManagerLocation: Birmingham (Hybrid Working)Salary: Competitive + BenefitsAbout the Role:We’re recruiting for a Bids & Proposals Manager to lead complex, high-value submissions for a purpose-driven law firm with a clear mission: to improve lives, communities, and society. This is a pivotal role within the Marketing & Business Development team, supporting the firm’s Strategy 2030 and driving continued growth across multiple legal sectors.You’ll take ownership of the end-to-end bid process — from opportunity identification through to strategy, content development, submission, and post-bid analysis. Working closely with partners, sector leads, lawyers, and senior stakeholders, you’ll shape compelling, client-focused proposals that strengthen the firm’s market position and win new work.This role is ideal for an experienced bids professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, brings strategic thinking to each opportunity, and enjoys mentoring and developing others within a fast-paced, purpose-led organisation.Key Responsibilities:Lead the creation and delivery of high-quality bids and proposals across all sectorsDevelop bid strategies, win themes, and go-to-market approaches to maximise success ratesManage and mentor a high-performing bids team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvementCoordinate complex submissions, ensuring timelines, compliance, and brand consistencyMaintain and enhance the bid library including templates, case studies, and core contentAnalyse bid performance, producing insights to shape future strategies and opportunitiesWork closely with Marketing & Business Development colleagues to align bid activity with firmwide growth objectivesCollaborate with partners and lawyers to create tailored, persuasive, and client-focused proposalsCandidate Profile:Proven experience managing bids or proposals within professional services or a comparable environmentStrong project management skills with the ability to balance multiple prioritiesExcellent written communication with a flair for producing persuasive, high-quality contentStrategic mindset with the ability to translate business goals into winning bidsExperience mentoring, coaching, or developing a teamCollaborative, proactive, and committed to delivering work to a high standardWhat Our Client Offers:Hybrid working arrangement25 days annual leave plus 2 gift days at Christmas3 social-purpose volunteering days per yearNewly refurbished Birmingham office with an onsite café and free onsite gym accessFull IT setup for effective hybrid workingExcellent training and professional development opportunitiesHow to Apply:If you’re an experienced bids professional with a passion for delivering high-impact proposals and supporting a values-led organisation, we’d love to hear from you.About Us:We are a recruitment agency specialising in commercial, technical, and professional services appointments across the UK.
