The CompanyOur client is a skilled civil subcontractor who holds over 20 years of experience within the construction industry, they have an extensive amount of experience dealing with various developments, however withhold specialties operating in groundworks, drainage and hard landscaping. They operate in various places around the UK and hold an impressive track record of delivering projects up to standard in a safely manor.The ProjectAs a highly experienced Site Manager, you will oversee the groundworks package on a £9m new build residential development in North Yorkshire. Your responsibilities will include the comprehensive coordination and management of daily on-site operations, health & safety and ensuring the programme is adhered to. Your expertise will be essential to the successful delivery of the project.RequirementsFor this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;SMSTS CSCS CardFirst Aid - Desirable not essentialIt is also essential that you hold the experience belowProven history of successfully delivering groundworks packages in excess of £2mExtensive background in the industry with at least 5 years of experience of operating in a Site Manager position or similar for a leading contractor or subcontractorAdditional skills;Superb negotiation abilitiesCompetent IT / software skillsExtensive health and safety knowledgeEffective communication skills, verbal and writtenAbility to organise and manage project schedulesA solid understanding of relevant regulations and standardsProven ability to lead, support, and direct a team effectivelyIn-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and building processesExceptional focus on detail to ensure adherence to quality standards and specificationsThe RoleJob Title: Site ManagerJob Type: Long-term freelanceProject: £9m new build residential developmentLocation: York, North YorkshireDuration: 10 - 12 monthsReporting to: Visting Contracts ManagerDutiesOn-site safety inductionsLiaise with the principal contractorCoordinate with external stakeholdersConduct and attend routine site meetingsReport and work closely with the Visiting Contracts ManagerHandle any issues or conflicts that arise throughout the projectComply with health and safety regulations throughout all work operationsOversee package costs, maintaining alignment with the established budgetIdentify possible threats to the works, implementing effective strategies to address themCoordinate and manage daily site activities, overseeing workers, subcontractors, and suppliersManaging resources such as materials, equipment, and labor to ensure they are used efficiently and effectivelyServe as the principal contact between the project team, clients, and stakeholders, delivering regular updates on project progressMaintaining accurate documentation of all project components, including contracts, permits, change orders, and communicationsEnhance and maintain positive client relationships by resolving concerns and ensuring their satisfaction with project developmentsThis is a long-term freelance position with a competitive rate on offer for the successful candidate.
