Job Description

We are working with a pan-European Real Estate private equity investment firm, headquartered in London with additional European offices, to hire a Vice President for their Asset Management team.


The Vice President, Asset Management (Logistics) will work closely with senior management and execute business and strategic operating plans for the fund’s Logistics portfolio, (primary focus in Ireland with additional oversight of investments in UK, Denmark, Spain and Italy), at both a financial and physical level.


The individual will need to demonstrate hands-on property-level asset management experience, ideally with experience in value-add and income producing assets, and must have significant experience in logistics.


The firm has both value add/opportunistic and core plus strategies, is well capitalised (both from raised discretionary funds and separate accounts), focusing primarily on mid-cap Real Estate investment opportunities across a wide range of sectors (approximately €1.5 billion AUM).


Responsibilities will include:


  • Assume responsibility for the execution of individual asset-level business plans including monitoring performance against budgets, income and cost control, project timetables and exit strategies for the fund’s Irish logistics portfolio (currently c.150 assets) with additional oversight of other assets in the UK and Europe.
  • Prepare internal quarterly valuation reports, and develop and maintain financial projection models in Excel.
  • Financially appraise and monitor all capital expenditure programs with tenant retention, competitive positioning, marketing and asset re-positioning as a top priority.
  • Develop and establish high-quality commercial relationships with the portfolio’s direct tenants, joint venture partners, external service providers and professional teams.
  • Where appropriate, directly negotiate leases, rent reviews and lease re-gears to enhance commercial value and landlord and tenant relations.
  • Ensure that all other stakeholders, including any banking partners, are effectively and professionally communicated with and managed.
  • Select, instruct and manage all third-party service providers, to ensure consistency in approach, leveraging specialist skills and achieving efficiency cost savings.
  • Where appropriate, institute monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements for all external advisors to ensure full transparency and accountability by all related counterparties.
  • Take ownership of asset management reports to investors and present asset management performance reviews on a regular basis with the team and, from time-to-time, the fund's investors.
  • Assist the Acquisitions team with underwriting and due diligence.
  • London based with weekly travel to Dublin office


Key experience / Background:


  • A strong academic background; Bachelor's degree in real estate, engineering, architecture, business, economics, finance or similar subject.
  • Have c. 8-10 years of relevant hands-on asset management experience, ideally working for an operating partner in the logistics sector.
  • Demonstrable hands-on direct experience in strategic asset management tasks: leases, CAPEX, refurbishments
  • Track record of undertaking repositioning, redevelopment and refurbishment of assets and portfolios
  • Ability to fit in a small, like-minded team and execute multiple, diverse projects at same time
  • Ambitious, energetic, team player, well-organized, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • A 'can do' self-starter with good administrative and project management skills and very high attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle large volume of work; good organizational skills and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, with native-level English language skills
