We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Sales to lead our sales team and drive revenue growth. In this critical leadership role, you will be responsible for developing and executing our sales strategy, managing high-performing sales teams, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our company by driving customer acquisition, retention, and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with Cue's business goals and market opportunities.
- Redesign the hiring plan in alignment with the sales strategy to ensure the team is structured for success. Recruit, onboard, and retain top sales talent in both the UK and South Africa.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate the team to achieve and exceed sales targets. Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Coach the sales team across the full sales workflow to ensure they can effectively implement the sales strategy and hit business targets.
- Drive revenue growth through new customer acquisition, expansion of existing accounts, and development of strategic partnerships. Enable the team to hit targets rather than creating dependency on individual performers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction with Cue’s solutions.
- Oversee sales operations, including pipeline generation, management, forecasting, and reporting. Ensure the efficient use of CRM systems and sales tools.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, market developments, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and challenges. Provide feedback to the product and marketing teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and customer success, to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with other teams to refine and define our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) and buyer personas. Ensure the go-to-market (GTM) motion follows the strict criteria in collaboration with the marketing team.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of sales strategies and initiatives. Regularly report on sales performance to senior management.
- Create reporting and feedback loops within the sales team and across the broader organisation that contribute to knowledge sharing and align a single GTM motion.
- Manage the sales budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to achieve sales objectives.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in sales leadership roles, preferably within the SaaS or software industry. With a proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Demonstrated experience in scaling revenue from $3M ARR to $10M ARR or beyond.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage SPICED as a qualification framework to assess prospect fit and needs effectively. Strong understanding and application of value-based selling methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and retain top sales talent across South Africa and the UK. Proven success in fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture that unites teams across different locations, while ensuring alignment with company goals and regional market needs.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing sales teams.
- Excellent strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
- Deep understanding of customer needs and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data to drive decisions and optimise sales performance.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organisation.
- Familiarity with modern sales tools and CRM systems, particularly HubSpot.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.
