You will be fully supported by an experienced education department. Training and development opportunities are available.Details of this position: An exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join the Prison Education team.As a successful Learning Support Assistant, you will have experience of working with ESOL learners providing inspirational learning support to small groups of learners and on a 1:1 basis.This will require a holistic approach to highlight specific learning needs and improving learner skills. Your focus will be on ALS, Maths and English, leading to employability outcomes, with effective target setting to meet individual needs.Work schedule: Full time 37.5 hours per week (open to part time)Salary scale: Up to £24,500.00 per annum (prorata for part-time working hours).Annual leave: 28 days, 3 additional days for Christmas-New YearsTo be considered, suitable candidates will need to meet the following criteria:Good basic general education including GCSE (or) equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C or above.NVQ2/ NVQ3 Teaching Assistant qualification and/or PTLLS/DTLLS or equivalent Teaching qualifications.TEFL, TESOL or equivalentExperience of working in a learning environment.Experience of supporting students or assessing or training.Benefits25 days annual leave, 3 additional days leave for Christmas to New Year closure and UK Bank Holidays (entitlement will be pro-rated for part-time employees)Generous Pension SchemeProfessional development opportunities, including professional qualificationsEmployee Assistance Programme (EAP) accessible 24 hours per day, 365 days per yearA variety of amazing discounts with NUS CardEmployee wellbeing platform with options to book free activitiesThe successful candidate will be required to obtain the appropriate prison clearance before starting the role and maintain this throughout employment.Suitable candidates will need to be enthusiastic, resilient and have a humanistic approach.
