Challenging Prison Education Role for a Dedicated Learning Support Assistant

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of adult learners?
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our Prison Education team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to work in a unique and challenging environment, providing inspirational learning support to small groups of learners and on a 1:1 basis.
You will have experience of working with ESOL learners, identifying specific learning needs and improving learner skills. Your focus will be on ALS, Maths and English, leading to employability outcomes, with effective target setting to meet individual needs.
The successful candidate will require a holistic approach, resilience, and a humanistic approach to supporting students. The role requires a high level of enthusiasm and commitment to education.
Job Details:
- Full-time position (37.5 hours per week) or part-time
- Salary scale: up to £24,500 per annum (prorata for part-time working hours)
- Annual leave: 28 days + 3 additional days for Christmas-New Year closure

Requirements:
- Good basic general education including GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C or above
- NVQ2/ NVQ3 Teaching Assistant qualification and/or PTLLS/DTLLS or equivalent Teaching qualifications
- TEFL, TESOL or equivalent
- Experience of working in a learning environment
- Experience of supporting students or assessing/training
