With a focus on environmental responsibility, they ensure the protection of marine ecosystems while maximizing returns for their clients. They also purchase assets for resale. The customers are insurance companies and related claims businesses.


Role Description ( STRICTLY COMMISSION BASED. VERY HIGH EARNING POTENTIAL)

This is a contract remote role for a Head of Business Development at Marine Salvage Co / Global Salvage Sales UK. The role will involve leading business development efforts, creating and implementing sales strategies, managing accounts, and overseeing business planning activities to drive growth and revenue for the company.


Position Overview: We’re seeking a self-driven, strategic, and experienced Head of Business Development to lead our business growth efforts. This role demands someone with a proactive approach, capable of building relationships within the insurance and claims industry, setting up efficient processes for lead generation, and forming and managing a team of business development professionals. If you're comfortable in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment and have the ambition to build and scale from the ground up, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy focused on the insurance claims sector, with an emphasis on marine insurance and other salvage asset categories.
  • Relationship Building: Leverage existing industry knowledge to forge strong, trust-based relationships with insurers, brokers, claims adjusters, and other key stakeholders.
  • Team Building and Management: Build, train, and lead a high-performance team of business development professionals, focused on scalable growth.
  • Lead Generation Process Design: Create and implement efficient lead generation and qualification processes, using best-in-class CRM and lead management tools.
  • Sales Process Optimization: Develop and refine the sales pipeline, from initial lead contact to closing, ensuring a streamlined and effective workflow.
  • Performance Management: Set and exceed ambitious sales targets; be comfortable with performance-based compensation, using data-driven insights to improve and optimize efforts continually.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Approach each day with an ownership mentality, adapting quickly to change and delivering results in a fast-moving environment.
  • CRM and Tool Proficiency: Utilize and optimize CRM systems and lead generation tools to drive business development efforts.

Requirements :

  • Industry Knowledge: Deep knowledge of marine insurance, claims processes, or related insurance fields preferred.
  • Experience: Proven track record in business development, with specific experience in scaling teams and processes from scratch.
  • Leadership Ability: Demonstrated success in hiring, training, and managing a team, with strong organizational and motivational skills.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient with CRM systems, lead generation tools, and data analysis for business development purposes.
  • Work Ethic: Willingness to work long hours in a fast-paced environment, with a commitment to achieving and exceeding performance-based goals.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Self-starter mentality with a drive to innovate, solve problems, and achieve outstanding results.
  • Insurance Background (Preferred): Prior experience in the insurance industry or working closely with insurance claims professionals is a strong plus.
