New Milton, United Kingdom CV-Library Full time

Are you a dynamic Production or Operations Manager passionate about driving continuous improvement and operational excellence? Join their innovative horticulture business, where you'll play a pivotal role in managing the production of high-quality plants and crops. You'll lead transformative projects, streamline processes, and elevate efficiency across all levels of their operations. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love problem-solving, and are committed to making an impact, they want you to help shape the future of their sustainable growing operations. Be a key player in a company that values growth, innovation, and your expertise in creating sustainable improvements.

What's in it for you?

At their company, they believe in nurturing talent and fostering growth. As part of a family-run business with big aspirations, you'll be joining a fantastic team environment where collaboration and innovation are central to everything they do.

You'll have the opportunity to develop your skills, whether by learning new approaches to continuous improvement in growing techniques or applying your existing expertise. Your voice matters, and they actively encourage fresh ideas, giving you the chance to take an active role in shaping the future of their horticultural operations. Be part of a growing business that values your input and invests in your personal and professional development.

The Role

As Growing Operations Manager, you'll take charge of key tasks such as potting, spacing, staking, and grading to ensure that production runs smoothly and efficiently, while maintaining the highest possible quality or product. You'll also oversee the upkeep of growing equipment and machinery, carrying out preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and replacing any equipment that can no longer be serviced.

A crucial part of this role involves driving continuous improvement and reviewing existing processes to enhance productivity and efficiency. You'll be responsible for regularly evaluating workflows and identifying areas where operational processes can be streamlined or upgraded. Implementing Lean methodologies, you will focus on minimizing waste, optimizing resource use, and ensuring production targets are consistently met with the highest standards. By leading initiatives that promote sustainable growth and innovation, you'll be directly contributing to the long-term success and competitiveness of their horticultural operations.

You will also manage a team of four direct reports, ensuring clear communication and fostering a culture of improvement and accountability. Health & Safety is a key part of this role, where you'll ensure that site operations meet audit standards and comply with all relevant safety regulations. This is a hands-on position where your ability to continuously improve processes will be as essential as managing daily operations.
