Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Tower Hamlets
Salary Range: £90 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start time: January 2025, 8:30 am – 3:45 pm  
Contract: Long-term, Full-time 

Are you a passionate and skilled Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

A welcoming primary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work in KS1, starting January 2025.

Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for children in KS1 with diverse SEN needs.
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailor learning activities to meet individual needs.
Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment to promote student development.
Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to adapt teaching materials and strategies.
Monitor and record progress, offering feedback to staff and parents.
Use a child-centred approach to manage behaviours and encourage positive interactions.
Support children with personal care or mobility needs when necessary.
Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

Experience working in a primary school setting, particularly with SEN students.
Strong understanding of SEN strategies and practices.
Ability to provide focused support to KS1 students on a one-to-one or small group basis.
Knowledge of KS2 is beneficial.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
