Data Centre Specialist

* Location: Farnborough GU14 (Must be located 30-45 minutes from site)

Your new role

We are recruiting for the role of a Data Centre Operation Specialist, a key role in providing advanced support to the data centre space.

Some your responsibilities will include:

* Build, utilize, maintain and deploy custom DCIM software ensuring 100% adoption and accuracy is adhered to by all Data Centre Technicians across all Exponential-e client Data Centres.

* Quality control tracking of Racks, PDU’s, Tap Off’s, Patch Panels, Equipment and associated patching using internally established standards in line with customer requirements aligned to the DCIM.

* Establish, create, review, and continuously update supporting documentation relating to installation and operational procedure guides to ensure the Data Centre teams instruction for deployment and maintenance of critical network, server and storage environments are aligned to successful delivery across all sites.

* Act as a Mentor by training and onboarding all new Data Centre Technicians as teams grow and expand into new Data Centre Locations.

What you’ll need to succeed

* Must meet SC and BPSS security clearance vetting and approval requirements

* Must be within 30 mile radius to site

* Previous and demonstrable experience in working in a Managed Hosting/Public and or Private Cloud Enterprise Data Centre Environment

* Ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail and being able to make informed decisions

* Familiar with IT Hardware Concepts (RAID, SAN, x86 architecture, SCSI, FC, ethernet, iLO)

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Full UK Driving License and personal car is essential for this position

* Logical in your approach to troubleshooting, problem solving and fault diagnosis
