Public Affairs Executive - Full-time, Permanent Position
Farringdon, London
£40,184-£42,298
About us: Metropolitan Thames Valley (MTVH) was built on a simple mission - to give our residents a safe, secure and affordable home, and the chance to live well.
That is as true today as it was in the 1950s, when founder Molly Huggins established Metropolitan to provide decent homes for Windrush migrants in London, and as it was in the 1980s as Thames Valley housing pioneered a new innovative Share Ownership product, to make home ownership more affordable.
Today, MTVH owns or manages more than 57,000 homes. It also provides a range of care and support services, with specialist areas including older people, mental health and transitional services which provides intensive support to marginalised or vulnerable people.
MTVH is championing a better cared for, fairer, and more prosperous society. Like its founders before it, the team of today aims to leave a lasting legacy for future generations.
The role: We are investing in our corporate affairs function by seeking to recruit three exceptional individuals to help deliver a first-class communications service to our residents and our stakeholders in order to build trust and confidence in the organisation. There are two Resident Communications Executive positions, and one Public Affairs Executive.
The Residents Communications Executives and Public Affairs Executive will play a key role in ensuring we have effective and considered communications with our 57,000 households and are making the case for our housing association with our residents and stakeholders.
From housing affordability to tenant satisfaction to sustainability these roles provide an opportunity to engage audiences and build an understanding of our organisation on a range of important issues.
Corporate Affairs is a diverse team sitting at the heart of the organisation. We support the delivery of the organisation?s strategy by:
Supporting the operational effectiveness of our services through clear, informed and respectful communications with our residents
Bringing the outside in? helping MTVH understand how it is viewed by our audiences.
Using data including polling, social listening and external benchmarking.
Influencing behaviour, decision-making and public policy on behalf of the organisation and our residents.
Together, these roles will boost our engagement with our key audiences to ensure we have impact and can make a difference.
MTVH?s success stands on our colleagues, and we are fully committed to giving all members of the team the opportunity to develop, while providing an enjoyable working environment that brings out the best in people.
Please see the role profile for a detailed description including key responsibilities and outcomes.
What you?ll need to succeed
These are intellectually challenging positions and we are looking for three exceptional candidates who are excited by these positions and committed to working for an organisation that puts our residents first.
You will understand that communications is primarily about listening and you will work to understand our residents and stakeholders and what they are telling us about their needs.
You will be data-confident and communicate sensitively and concisely. You will be comfortable interacting with a range of colleagues and across a variety of topics.
You will have experience of taking an innovative approach and seeking opportunities to do things differently. You will have a proven track record of being responsive to change and adapting quickly to circumstances. You will have evidence of planning and prioritising to effectively meet deadlines, remaining calm to deliver results at pace.
You will show empathy for our work and our residents. You will be committed to contributing to a diverse and inclusive working environment where under-represented groups are supported and individual difference is respected.
