Tradewind Recruitment are proudly working alongside amazing special needs school near Kirkham, on the outskirts of Preston, who are looking for a special needs teaching assistant to support pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). The role is a full time, ongoing long term position commencing as soon as possible, or in January 2025.
The school are able to offer fantastic facilities and excellent levels of learning support within the classroom, and their most recent Ofsted grading was 'Outstanding'.
The school are ideally looking for someone who has previous experience in a PMLD environment or has worked extensively with learners with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), some with associated complex needs, ASD (Autism) and challenging behaviours.
As part of this full-time PMLD Teaching Assistant role, you will attend to pupils' significant personal needs, including moving and handling, personal care and postural management. The successful candidate will also provide advice to assist in their social, health and hygiene well-being, as well as:
Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans
Supporting pupils with their learning and personal care needs
Promoting independence and inclusion within the school community
Collaborating with the teaching team to create engaging and inclusive lessons
Monitoring and recording pupil progress
The daily rate for this role will range from £87.50 - £95.00 dependant upon experience. And Tradewind proudly pay directly via PAYE through our own amazing in-house payroll team, without the need to sign up with a third party umbrella company The school are also looking to employ someone one a temporary to permanent (temp to perm) basis, so a permanent position would become available in 2025 for the right candidate
The school is based in the Kirkham area, and easily accessible from the West of Preston and has close motorway links via the M55.
In order to undertake this PMLD Teaching Assistant role in Kirkham, you will need to:
Have knowledge and experience of working in a specialist SEN setting
Be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure - or hold a DBS currently subscribed to DBS Update Service.
Provide overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and undergo professional reference checks.
Ensure your CV covers all employment and education since leaving secondary school.
Have the legal right to work in the UK.
