Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full-time, term-time only
About Us
Our School is a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) school that supports young people aged 11-16 with a variety of needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, and complex learning needs. Our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment where every child can achieve their full potential.
The Role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Youth Worker to join our team. As a Youth Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of our students. You will work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure a holistic approach to each student's education.
Key Responsibilities
Build positive and trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and participation.
Provide 1:1 or group support to students with diverse needs, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Facilitate activities and programs that promote social skills, emotional regulation, and personal development.
Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour
support strategies.
Work closely with teaching staff to create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment.
Monitor and report on students' progress, ensuring effective communication with parents and the wider team.
Support the delivery of extracurricular activities and enrichment programs.What We're Looking For
Experience working with children or young people with SEN or SEMH needs (essential).
A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection principles.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
A positive, patient, and resilient attitude.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Relevant qualifications in youth work, education, or health and social care are desirable but not essential.What We Offer
