Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant

We are looking for strong Behavioural Teaching Assistants to work in a reputable Special Needs Secondary school based in Enfield on a full-time long-term basis.
Successful candidates will have:
-Previous experience working with children (Preferably vulnerable/children with Special Needs) with mild/complex Autism, Learning difficulties, Challenging/aggressive behaviour, Down syndrome, ADHD, hyper-mobility and more.
-Excellent Challenging Behaviour management.
-Be able to provide social, emotional and academic support to students whilst building positive working relationships.
-Be able to provide general classroom support whilst working alongside the classroom teacher.
-Be able to hold 1:1 interventions with students outside of the classroom.
-Be aware of individual needs and provide personalised support to meet the student's abilities.
-Be willing to provide personal care.
-Currently be holding a valid DBS or be willing to apply for one.
-Be available ASAP
-Consistency, reliability and a drive to succeed
The school is a highly reputable Special Needs Secondary school, rated "Outstanding" by Ofsted, with a total of 84 pupils, who have severe Learning Difficulties and Special Needs aged between 11 to 19. The school thrives to ensure the diverse needs of their pupils are met by encouraging a personalised curriculum to meet each pupils' individual abilities. Cognition & Learning (Functional skills - English, Maths, Science, ICT)
Communication & Interaction (Expressive communication - short sentences, single words, non-verbal (use of Body language/facial expression / signing/pictures or symbols / objects)
Sensory and Physical (Health needs / Engagement in physical activities / Sensory processing / Special diets / Puberty)
Independence (Community access / travel training / Work placements / Personal Care)The school is located in the heart of Enfield , with many places to eat including great transport links.
