Job Overview:
Are you an experienced Social Housing Repairs Supervisor looking for your next challenge? Do you have a strong background in managing day-to-day repairs and maintenance in social housing? We're looking for a dynamic Supervisor to oversee a busy, high-profile social housing contract in North London.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Repairs Supervisor to join a tier-one contractor, where you'll take charge of operations, lead teams of operatives, and ensure work is completed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead & Manage Repairs:
As the Social Housing Repairs Supervisor, you’ll be the go-to person for all day-to-day repairs and maintenance activities. You will supervise a team of operatives and ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard across multiple properties.
Team Leadership:
You will be the Supervisor responsible for directing operatives on-site, delegating tasks, and providing guidance and support where needed. A big part of the role is to be the main point of contact for the team, ensuring everyone is working cohesively and following the proper procedures.
Quality & Safety Control:
As the Repairs Supervisor, it’s your responsibility to maintain high standards of quality control. You’ll oversee the completion of tasks to ensure compliance with building regulations, quality standards, and health & safety protocols.
Hands-On Supervisory Role:
For those interested in a Working Supervisor role, you’ll be able to get stuck into the work while overseeing the team. As a Supervisor with practical skills, you’ll perform a wide range of repairs, including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and general building tasks.
Client & Stakeholder Liaison:
The Supervisor is also responsible for interacting with clients, residents, and stakeholders, addressing any concerns and ensuring satisfaction with the work being done. You will represent the company in a professional manner, upholding the reputation of the contractor.
Admin & Reporting:
Complete necessary paperwork, timesheets, and reports. As Supervisor, you will keep accurate records of all work completed and provide regular updates to management on progress, issues, and any changes to project timelines.
Skills & Experience Required:
Experience:
Experience working in social housing repairs and maintenance.
Proven track record as a Supervisor in a similar role, leading teams on social housing projects.
Hands-on experience in a trade (plumbing, carpentry, electrical) is an advantage, particularly for Working Supervisor roles.
Certifications:
Must hold SSSTS or SMSTS (Site Supervisors' Safety Training Scheme or Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
Full UK driving licence is required for the role.
Skills:
Excellent communication and leadership skills to manage a team of operatives and liaise with clients.
Strong organisational skills to oversee repairs and ensure work is completed on time.
Ability to perform site inspections, conduct risk assessments, and uphold health and safety standards.
Personal Attributes:
Proactive approach with a hands-on supervisory style.
Strong problem-solving abilities, capable of troubleshooting issues as they arise.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
Why This Is a Great Opportunity:
Competitive Pay & Benefits:
Attractive salary and package, with the opportunity for career progression with a tier-one contractor.
