Divisional Health and Safety Manager – Infrastructure

Location: London-based with national travel
Salary: Up to £90,000 + excellent package

Fairmead are seeking a highly experienced Divisional Health and Safety Manager on behalf of a prestigious construction company. This role offers the opportunity to lead health and safety initiatives across some of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects, including HS2, highways, and rail (PTS).

As a key member of the team, reporting directly to the Head of Health and Safety, you will drive forward innovative strategies, ensure compliance with regulations, and cultivate a safety-driven culture on complex civil engineering projects.

What We’re Looking For

* Civil Engineering Expertise: A strong background in civil engineering, with proven experience in infrastructure projects such as HS2, highways, and rail (PTS).

* Leadership in Safety: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement health and safety strategies in high-risk environments.

* Practical Risk Management: A balanced and pragmatic approach to identifying and managing risks effectively and proportionately.

* Collaboration Skills: Strong communication and teamwork capabilities to promote a positive safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement a divisional health and safety strategy aligned with company and project goals.

* Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to maintain the highest safety standards.

* Promote employee-led safety practices, fostering accountability and a culture of shared responsibility.

* Deliver training programmes, toolbox talks, and workshops to enhance awareness and compliance.
