About the role: SEN Teaching Assistant: Teach Now is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1-on-1 with a young girl in Reception who is non-verbal and has ASD. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and techniques for supporting non-verbal communication. The role will involve closely supporting the child's daily activities, helping her engage with the curriculum, and using specialised communication strategies to foster her development. Application Requirements:
• Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, LSA, working with children with with ASD and Non Verbal.

• A patient, empathetic, and positive approach to supporting students.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with both students and staff. • A relevant qualification (desirable but not essential).

• A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one.

• Candidate needs to have curriculum knowledge.

Key Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Provide 1:1 support to a girl who is in Reception. She has ASD and is non verbal.

• Assist with tailored lesson plans and differentiated learning materials to meet the child's specific needs.

• Monitor progress and adapt support strategies as require.

• Build a strong, trusting relationship with the student to help her feel safe and engaged in the classroom..
