Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualised support to students with SEMH needs, promoting their emotional and social development.
  • Assist in developing and implementing effective learning strategies to support students with challenging behaviour.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere, encouraging students to thrive.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure student progress and well-being.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting support as necessary to meet their unique needs.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young people in a SEN school setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting student development, particularly those with SEMH needs.
  • Ability to manage and support students with challenging behaviour, using positive behaviour management techniques.
  • A current enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for a new one.
