Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement effective learning strategies that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting a sense of belonging and well-being among our students.
  • Work closely with parents and carers to ensure seamless communication and support for our students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, making adjustments to support as needed.
  • Manage and support students with diverse behavioural and learning needs, providing a safe and supportive environment for all.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young people in a SEN school setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting student development and well-being.
  • Ability to manage and support students with challenging behaviour, using positive and proactive strategies.
  • A current enhanced DBS or willingness to apply for a new one.
