Data & Reporting Analyst - Wigan (WA3)

The Data & Reporting Analyst role supports the design, implementation, and day to day operation of the Murphy Microsoft Azure Data & Analytics platform. The Data & Reporting Analyst will be comfortable handling and analysing large quantities of data, understanding and delivering business reporting requirements, whilst working to build the end-to-end ETL process and underlying technology stack. Working closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytical requirements to ingest and present relevant datasets.

What you will be doing

Handling large and complex datasets from a variety of sources e.g. Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, SAP SuccessFactors and other key construction centric systems.
Design and implement data integration solutions using Azure Synapse Pipelines and Data Lake.
Develop and maintain ETL processes using Synapse Notebooks to transform raw data into usable formats.
Monitor data pipelines and systems for performance and reliability; troubleshooting issues as they arise.
Create and manage data models to support analytics and reporting.
Automate data workflows and processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
OptimizeMaintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, models, and workflows.
Active team member responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the Murphy data and reporting platforms.
Create and manage data models across platforms to ensure accurate and efficient reporting.
Optimize infrastructure for performance and usability of all business reports, ensuring timely data updates in readiness for business use.
Provide support to end-users on Power BI functionality, best practices, access control, and fault resolution.
Ensure data accuracy and consistency in reports and dashboards.
Applying Murphy best practices to code management, documentation and release, using Azure DevOps.
Support, embed and document good working practises of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) across Development, Test and Production environments.
Ensure data security by analysing and implementing appropriate access controls and Data Governance best practices.  

Who are we are loooking for

Detailed knowledge and practical experience with Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, SQL and Power BI.    
Demonstrable experience with Azure DevOps and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes.    
Working knowledge of ETL and data ingestion (API knowledge).    
Working knowledge of Azure Logic Apps would be advantageous
Experience with construction processes and applications,could be beneficial
Ideally knowledge and practical experience with Databricks
Data engineering experience with Python and C#, Web service / API development and Messaging Frameworks, would be desirabel but not essential
Demonstrable experience with Azure Logic Apps would be favourable
Knowledge of system and data structures in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations would be a bonus
