As an Essential Skills Trainer, you will be pivotal in delivering and embedding impactful training that enhances essential skills across our trade depot teams. Collaborating closely with HR Business Partners, Regional Leaders, and Learning Partners, you’ll ensure our employees are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours they need to succeed and thrive in their roles.
This role focuses on three key areas:
1. Essential Skills Training: Delivering sales and core skills training to employees at all levels.
2. Stock, Systems, & Process Training: Educating managers and staff on key operational processes to ensure compliance and efficiency.
3. Embedding Learning: Ensuring training outcomes are effectively applied in the workplace through follow-up activities, coaching, and measurable impact assessment.
What will you be doing as an Essential Skills Trainer:
• Deliver engaging, high-quality virtual and face-to-face training sessions tailored to learner needs.
• Collaborate with managers to ensure training outcomes are integrated into daily operations.
• Lead embedding activities such as follow-ups, group discussions, and practical application of skills in the workplace.
• Continuously update and improve training materials to ensure relevance and engagement.
• Measure and evaluate training effectiveness, reporting on key outcomes such as participant feedback and business impact.
• Manage and promote our Learning Management System (LMS) to track learner progress and enhance accessibility.
What do you need to qualify for the Essentials Skills Trainer:
• Proven experience delivering effective L&D programmes in virtual and in-person settings.
• Familiarity with stock, systems, and processes in depots or retail environments (preferred).
• Skilled in evaluating and measuring the return on investment (ROI) for learning initiatives.
• Strong understanding of modern learning practices and trends, with experience using LMS platforms.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of motivating behavioural change.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
