Take responsibility for developing and delivering a range of courses in information searching to include at least the following elements: Electronic Journals, E-books and the Library Catalogue Routine and advanced searching of clinical Databases such as Medline, Embase, CINAHL and PsyclNFO Evidence based medicine, NICE Evidence and the Cochrane Library Use of general library services Critical appraisal skills To be responsible for the effective promotion and marketing of the training both within the libraries and Trust wide, using a variety of methods to ensure that all Trust staff have access to the information. To work with other Library Trainers through the Regional Library Trainers' Forum to set out and implement training programmes and work on related projects. To continually evaluate the training using a variety of methods and modify courses accordingly. Work in close collaboration with the Trust's Education and Training department to ensure that training courses are integrated within the Trust's education and training programme.

To be responsible for the development and production of appropriate training materials in hard copy and online formats and other support material for the training cou ses such as trainers' notes, evaluation forms and accreditation certificates. Teach staff effective literature searching and critical appraisal skills to improve the level of use of evidence based practice within the Trust. Support the literature search service by regularly performing complex literature searches Lead the library session in relevant Trust inductions such as the regular junior doctor and student nurse inductions. Teach staff effective Internet/Intranet searching skills Prepare questionnaires / feedback forms for evaluation purposes To collate monthly training statistics and work closely with the Library Services Manager to prepare and deliver progress reports to the Trust on a regular basis.

To contribute to our current awareness service, using KnowledgeShare to categorise members according to their professional interests and ensure that they receive regular updates. To take part in the promotion of library services at various Trust events by providing a display and manning a stand, talking to new potential users and promoting aspects of the service that are most relevant to them. Keep up to date with national, regional and local developments in online resource development and new resources and ensure that courses are regularly updated to reflect these changes Provide one-to-one training sessions to Trust staff on demand Attend relevant internal meetings on behalf of the library service Provide customised training sessions to suit the unique needs of individuals and groups. Be familiar with library operations and procedures.

This will be in sufficient detail to enable the job holder to cover serving users of the library in the absence of the Library Assistant and Librarian due to their absence on leave or at meetings. Supervise, on adhoc basis, the Library Assistants in the absence of the Site Librarian To undertakeother duties commensurate with this grade of post in agreement with the relevant line manager.
