Teaching Assistant - Reception Class Supporting a Child with High Emotional Needs
A welcoming primary school in North London is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a young boy in their Reception class. This role is ideal for someone experienced in supporting children with high emotional needs and passionate about creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
Offer tailored 1:1 support to a Reception pupil, helping to manage high emotional needs and build confidence in the classroom.
Develop and implement strategies to assist with emotional regulation and promote positive behaviours.
Collaborate with the class teacher and SEN team to create a nurturing and supportive learning plan for the child.
Encourage the child's participation in group activities, ensuring they feel included and supported in all aspects of school life.
Step in to support the wider class when required, contributing to a positive and productive learning environment.
What We're Looking for in a Teaching Assistant:
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with children with additional emotional or behavioural needs.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach, with the confidence to adapt to different situations.
The ability to work independently and use initiative to overcome challenges.
A calm, nurturing presence, capable of building trust and strong relationships with pupils and staff.
An Enhanced DBS or willingness to process one through Reeson Education.
