Compliance Manager

* Salary: £47,198 - £49,634 per annum (plus car allowance & excellent benefits)

* Location: Walsall, West Midlands

* Contract: Permanent, full time – hybrid working, but presence in the office and on site required to meet business need.

* Closing Date: 18th November 2024

* Interview Date: TBC

Overview of role:

We’re looking for a Compliance Manager to join our new Building Compliance Team to oversee our gas, electric, asbestos and water hygiene functions. You’ll carry out regular audits and spot checks of these work streams to ensure we are compliant with legislation and keeping our customers safe.

You’ll also be directly responsible for the Compliance Planning and Admin function, ensuring our servicing programmes and reactive appointments run efficiently and in line with SLAs.

This role will also be responsible for managing a range of contractors in relation to building compliance, including our commercial gas and heat network contracts.

Given the technical nature of building compliance, we’ll need you to be qualified in either gas or electric and be willing to work towards an asbestos qualification (if not already qualified). You’ll have an eye for detail and be highly skilled at working with large amounts of data, as well as being able to see the bigger picture. You’ll be passionate about building safety and driven by achieving 100% compliance, improving our service offer to customer and achieving value for money. It goes without saying that you’ll be able to effectively lead and manage people, including guiding people through change to achieve continuous improvement.

So what’s in it for you? We offer a competitive salary, generous annual leave allowance, a local government pensions scheme and much, much, more. It also offers you the opportunity to be involved in a social business that has a clear set of values and objectives that are all about supporting people. And our inclusive culture and market-leading professional development opportunities have seen us achieve a Sunday Times ‘Best place to work’ award for 2024.

What’s in it for you?

whg is an organisation that is all about supporting a positive culture for colleagues and enabling people to bring their best to work each and every day. We support a flexible approach to work and believe in giving colleagues the right balance of autonomy and support to enable them to work to their full potential. Working for whg means you will receive:

* A competitive salary

* A range of shopping and leisure discounts

* 27 days annual leave (plus three days for Christmas shut down)

* Access to learning and development opportunities

* Access to the annual leave purchase scheme

* The opportunity to work in a hybrid environment

* Access to a choice of two great pension schemes including the Local Government Pension Scheme

* Automatic membership of Colleague Voice

* A health cash plan

* A friendly office environment

* Access to a car leasing scheme

* A culture that really does aim to create a place for all colleagues regardless of job role.
