Position Overview:

As a Nursing Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the clinical services. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient care, effective management of nursing and allied health professionals, and contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for nursing and clinical services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee budgetary and financial management related to clinical services.
  • Develop and mentor nursing and allied health professionals, promoting continuous professional development.
  • Successfully implement and drive positive change within the clinical environment.
  • Demonstrate achievements in improving patient care through innovative practices.
  • Work collaboratively with patients and staff to enhance effective involvement, consultation, and communication.
  • Redesign practices based on a wide range of evidence bases to improve overall service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with CQC and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • NMC Registered Nurse or HCPC registration.
  • Degree in a related subject.
  • Continued professional development.
  • Considerable experience in an equivalent role in the acute/independent sector.
  • Budgetary and financial management experience.
  • Successful development of nursing/allied health professionals.
  • Proven experience in implementing positive change and achieving results.


Skills and Knowledge:

  • In-depth awareness of the quality and governance agenda.
  • Proficient in conflict resolution strategies.
  • Ability to plan, allocate, and evaluate work effectively.
  • Understanding of workforce planning issues in healthcare.
  • Knowledge of recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office.
  • Additional qualifications such as a recognized management qualification or postgraduate qualification are desirable.
