Job OverviewThis role plays a critical part in our mission to positively impact the health of billions of people worldwide. As a Research Data Steward Lead, you will be responsible for managing the lifecycle of research data operational activities, ensuring data quality, accuracy, retention, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Data Lifecycle Management:
You will be responsible for understanding and implementing the full lifecycle of research data, from acquisition to disposal, adhering to the ALCOA+++ principles (Attributable, Legible, Contemporaneous, Original, Accurate, Complete, Consistent, Enduring, and Available). You will also implement the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principles to maximize data reusability and sharing across systems.
- Data Curation & Structuring:
As a Research Data Steward Lead, you will lead the development of appropriate data definitions, working with Scientific Knowledge Engineers and Data Architects to implement the best schemas and ontologies. These will organize and structure scientific data for optimal usability, ensuring proper classification, labeling, and documentation to support research reproducibility and interoperability.
- Metadata Management:
You will work with SMEs and Onyx to define and maintain comprehensive standardized definitions across both scientific and operational metadata. You will ensure these are implemented in GSK systems and continuously assessed to improve data discoverability, alignment with emerging regulations, and standards.

Requirements- Bachelor's Degree:
A Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field is required.
- 5+ Years of Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, preferably in data governance, data standards, and policies.
- Programming Skills:
Experience with at least one programming language, such as Python, to apply techniques like pre-processing, classification, regression, clustering, dimensionality reduction, and model selection.
