About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispensary Assistant to join our team at Lakeside Healthcare Group. As a Dispensary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dispensary, providing excellent patient care, and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Issue repeat medication requests for patients and local pharmacies.
  • Action online repeat prescription requests and use dispensary task boxes appropriately.
  • Ensure the Dispensary Assistants team has prescription telephone lines covered during peak hours.
  • Answer prescription queries and issue prescriptions.
  • Raise appliance prescriptions according to community nursing team requests.
  • Issue prescriptions for care homes, ensuring they are sent to the relevant GP for signing and the correct pharmacy for delivery.
  • Organize and sort appliances and paperwork for collection/delivery.
  • Transfer medication to patients at the window/counter according to SOP.
  • Collect and record prescription charges.
  • Ensure all monies received or handled on behalf of the practice are stored and recorded properly.
