About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispensary Assistant to join our team at Lakeside Healthcare Group. As a Dispensary Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dispensary, providing excellent patient care, and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Issue repeat medication requests for patients and local pharmacies.
  • Action online repeat prescription requests and use dispensary task boxes appropriately.
  • Ensure prescription telephone lines are covered during peak hours.
  • Answer prescription queries and issue prescriptions.
  • Raise appliance prescriptions according to community nursing team requests.
  • Issue prescriptions for care homes, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Organize and sort appliances and paperwork for collection/delivery.
  • Transfer medication to patients at the window/counter.
  • Collect and record prescription charges.
  • Ensure all monies received are stored and recorded properly.

Requirements

  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade A-C or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Confident telephone manner.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Awareness of general practices and clinical/medical terminology.
