At Tesco, we're committed to making a positive impact on our customers' lives. As a Duty Pharmacy Manager, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and leading a team of pharmacists. You'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of hundreds of people every day.
We're dedicated to helping our colleagues be at their best, whatever life brings. That's why we offer uninterrupted 'me time' away from the pharmacy to relax, refuel, and recharge. You'll also have access to leadership training plans from industry experts, so you can progress your career. And if you've got an idea for how we can improve things, we'll make sure you're given the chance to be heard.
Your Responsibilities
  1. You'll supply prescriptions, deliver a range of NHS and Private services, and provide healthcare advice to customers.
  2. You'll play an active role in our charity support program, giving advice to people in the community at risk of or living with cancer, heart disease, and diabetes.
  3. You'll support the Pharmacy Manager to lead, train, and develop colleagues.
  4. You'll support the Pharmacy Manager in building relationships with Primary Care Networks and GPs' surgeries.
  5. You'll ensure accurate payment claims for NHS-covered items.
What You'll Need
  1. You'll have a Pharmacy Degree.
  2. You'll be passionate about leading and empowering a team.
  3. You'll be a member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and be willing to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme - we'll help you with this when we offer you the role.
  4. You'll complete a DBS check (organised by us) before employment.
What's in it for You
Our Pharmacies are led and supported exclusively by Pharmacists; we're always looking to develop new ways to deliver the best service possible for our communities. Along with providing a secure and flexible work environment, we offer excellent benefits that help make Tesco a great place to work. These include but are not limited to:
  1. Your GPhC fee covered by us, every year.
  2. Holiday starting at 25 days plus a personal day (plus Bank holidays).
  3. Buy holiday salary sacrifice scheme.
  4. Savings of up to £2000 a year on most Tesco purchases.
  5. Annual bonus - up to 20% of annual salary.
  6. Contributory pension scheme.
  7. 26 weeks maternity and adoption leave (after 1 year's service) at full pay, followed by 13 weeks of Statutory Maternity Pay or Statutory Adoption Pay, we also offer 4 weeks fully paid paternity leave.
  8. The right to request flexible working from your first day with us.
  9. A pharmacy training programme exclusive to Tesco, in partnership with Diabetes UK, Cancer Research UK, and British Heart Foundation.
  10. A structured training plan for Pharmacy Leadership, crafted by industry specialists.
  11. Great colleague discounts that save you money on everyday purchases.
  12. For those that need it, expert support through the application process for the new UK health and social care visa.
  13. Access to our colleague networks providing a space for colleagues to come together from a range of backgrounds.
About Us
Our Duty Pharmacy Managers are supported by wider store teams, such as security, stock replenishment, range management, and administration to ensure a smooth and consistent experience for our customers and patients, whilst maintaining theirs and our colleague's safety. We know life looks a little different for each of us. That's why at Tesco, we always welcome chats about flexible working. Some people are at the start of their careers, some want the freedom to do the things they love. Others are going through life-changing moments like becoming a carer, nearing retirement, adapting to parenthood, or something else. So, talk to us throughout your application about how we can support. Everyone's welcome. Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) at Tesco means that whoever you are and whatever your background, we always want you to feel represented and that you can be yourself at work. In short, we're a place where Everyone's Welcome. Ts & Cs. Tesco only recruit individuals who have passed the school leaver's age.
