An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Unit to cover a 12-month maternity leave for the post of a full-time Child Protection Coordinator.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of post-qualifying experience, with a proven track record of promoting restorative practice and protecting children and young people across the city.

Key Responsibilities
  • Chair Initial Child Protection Conferences and Child Protection Reviews using the Restorative Conferencing and Family Partnership Model.
  • Provide expert advice, support, consultation, and mediation on practice issues to Children's Services staff on individual cases.
  • Demonstrate substantial experience in work with children and families, including Child Protection, Child in Need, and Care Proceedings.
  • Have good knowledge of specific child protection matters such as Forced Marriage, Fabricated Illness, Female Genital Mutilation, Sexually Harmful Behaviour Planning meetings, and Trafficking.

Estimated Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
