About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Shift Leader at Tesco. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the store from the shop floor, ensuring that customer expectations are exceeded, and that the store operates smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Work in a fast-paced retail environment, with a high level of variety and challenge.
- Take ownership of running duty shifts, coordinating the team to deliver a clean, well-stocked store that meets customer expectations.
- Be there for customers, listening to their needs and helping to ensure they leave the store with what they came for.
- Look for ways to improve service, including coaching colleagues and providing feedback to the team.
- Guide and support colleagues in-store, ensuring it remains a safe place to work and shop.
- Maintain a great understanding of how the store is performing, and assist managers in delivering actions to improve store operations.
- Lead from the front, setting a great example for colleagues in everything you do.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive rate of pay, starting from £14.28 an hour, with increases to £15.41 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location and skills.
We are committed to offering new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but we also have opportunities for colleagues who wish to work fewer hours, from a minimum of 12 hours.
We are happy to support flexibility for our colleagues, so if your availability matches closely but not exactly to our advertised times, we would still love to hear from you.
