Job Title: Behaviour Mentor

**Job Summary:**

LTF Recruitment Ltd is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a vibrant secondary school in London. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4) to develop positive behaviours and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • **Support Students with Challenging Behaviour:**
    • Provide individualised support to students who exhibit challenging behaviours, helping them develop strategies to improve both in and out of the classroom.
  • **Mentorship and Small Group Sessions:**
    • Deliver 1:1 mentoring and small group sessions to promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and academic engagement.
  • **Collaboration with Teachers and Staff:**
    • Work closely with teachers, SENCo, and other staff to implement personalised behaviour plans.
  • **Role Modelling and Student Support:**
    • Act as a role model, encouraging students to develop confidence, resilience, and social skills.
  • **Communication with Parents and Carers:**
    • Maintain strong communication with parents and carers to ensure consistent support for students.
  • **Contribution to a Positive School Environment:**
    • Contribute to a positive school environment, promoting respect, inclusion, and a sense of community.

Essential Criteria:

  • **Experience Working with Young People:**
    • Experience working with young people, ideally in a secondary school setting.
  • **Understanding of Behaviour Management Techniques:**
    • Understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • **Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills:**
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students.
  • **Empathy, Patience, and Resilience:**
    • Empathy, patience, and resilience when dealing with challenging behaviour.
  • **Proactive Approach:**
    • A proactive, solution-focused approach to supporting students.
  • **Ability to Work Independently and as Part of a Team:**
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Criteria:

  • **Experience Supporting Students with SEN:**
    • Experience supporting students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • **Knowledge of Safeguarding Policies and Procedures:**
    • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
