About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Coach to lead our Spear Programme in Bethnal Green. As a Coach, you will be responsible for overseeing the training room and group sessions with young people, helping them to develop the skills and mindset they need to succeed in employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivery of Spear Programme
    • Prepare and deliver Spear Foundation sessions and 1:1 coaching, ensuring that young people are engaged, retained, and work-ready by the end of the initial phase of the programme.
    • Build relationships with young people on the programme and manage culture and attitudes in the training room.
    • Adapt the Spear coaching material according to the needs of the Trainees and manage behaviour effectively.
    • Handle safeguarding and take a lead on rating the work readiness of the trainees.
    • Track trainee progress on the dashboards and liaise with volunteers for key programme engagement events.
  • Delivery of Spear Career
    • Deliver weekly Spear Career sessions, maintain records, and report on statistics.
    • Develop ongoing relationships with Spear Trainees and contribute to the training and development of the Graduate Coach.
  • Trainee Recruitment
    • Develop relationships with Job Centres and local referral agencies to ensure maximum enrolment of Spear Trainees.
  • Continuous Professional Development
    • Engage in professional development, including Resurgo's coaching programmes and internal training.
  • Active Participation in Church Team and Mission
    • Establish a strong personal connection with the church to develop engagement and backing of church members.
    • Contribute to prayer meetings and support the church's mission.
Requirements
  • Active Christian with a passion for work as a lived expression of faith.
  • Heart for young people and releasing their potential.
  • Demonstrable experience as a coach or in youth work/teaching.
  • Confident in giving feedback and having crucial conversations.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills.
  • Emotional resilience and self-leadership.
  • Strong administrative skills.
