Job Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Clinical Psychologist to lead the development and delivery of a new project focused on improving psychological care for patients undergoing cardiac rehabilitation in West Yorkshire.


This exciting opportunity requires a clinician who is passionate about reducing health inequalities and improving outcomes for marginalized groups. The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing and implementing systemic interventions, working with complex systems, and evaluating the impact of their work.


About the Role


The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development of excellent working relationships with cardiac rehab service leads, developing strong links with local talking therapies services, and furthering knowledge of tier four services offered by acute hospital trusts in the region.


You will have the opportunity to work with a team of Assistant Psychologists to develop self-help resources aimed at improving patients' psychological well-being and supporting cardiac rehabilitation staff to increase their knowledge of screening or signposting individuals to receive the right psychological support.

Requirements



  • Registration as a Clinical Psychologist with Health and Care Professions Council (or equivalent)
  • Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialized areas of psychological practice
  • Qualified experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams and supervising healthcare staff
  • Experience of working with adults in the health condition(s) covered by the designated clinical specialty/area

Salary and Benefits


We offer a competitive salary of £80,000-£100,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including annual leave, pension scheme, and opportunities for professional development.


Location


This role will be based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, with regular travel across the region to work with cardiac rehab services and other stakeholders.
