About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Head of Subject – Secondary Maths Expert at ARK Schools. This is a key leadership role that requires a deep understanding of mathematics education and the ability to drive subject excellence across our programmes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of mathematics curriculum and assessment strategies that meet the needs of our students and schools.
  • Collaborate with the Education Director and subject leadership team to establish a shared vision for subject excellence and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to teachers and school leaders to improve subject outcomes and pedagogical practices.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including school leaders, teachers, and external partners, to promote subject excellence and drive programme impact.
  • Contribute to the development of high-quality educational resources and materials that support subject excellence and teacher professional development.
  • Monitor and evaluate programme impact, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
  • Lead pedagogical quality assurance reviews and provide feedback to teachers and school leaders to improve subject outcomes.
  • Represent ARK Schools at national and international events, promoting our approach to mathematics education and subject excellence.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in mathematics education or a related field.
  • Proven track record of leadership and subject expertise in mathematics education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on achieving organisational goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate programme impact and develop strategies for improvement.
  • Passion for mathematics education and subject excellence, with a commitment to driving programme impact and improving subject outcomes.
