We are seeking an experienced School Nurse or Trainee School Nurse to join our Upper Marr HV/SN team, working in Alford Academy. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality school nursing services to children and young people, promoting their health and wellbeing.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work on a non-term time contract, assisting the SN service across the Huntly cluster at times. They will also contribute to the evolution of the School Nursing service in Aberdeenshire, focusing on refocused roles based on the Scottish Government's priority pathways.

About the Role

You will work closely with children, young people, families, and multiagency colleagues to deliver targeted support for health and wellbeing needs. Your responsibilities will include providing a school nursing service, working in partnership with families and other agencies, and managing caseloads.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide a school nursing service to children and young people in Upper Marr.
  2. Work in partnership with families and other agencies to promote the health and wellbeing of children and young people.
  3. Caseload management and school nursing responsibilities.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A first-level registered nurse qualification.
  • A postgraduate Specialist Community Public Health School Nursing qualification or Advanced Practice Nursing (SN) qualification.
  • A working knowledge of child protection systems.
  • The ability and willingness to travel throughout Upper Marr.
