About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Children's Residential Support Worker to join our team at Siamo Recruitment. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in our residential setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement new techniques and approaches to childcare, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our young people.
  • Lead and coordinate group activities and holidays, promoting social skills and teamwork.
  • Encourage and support the development of individual interests and attitudes, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of each young person, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met.
  • Develop and implement educationally focused care plans, supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
  • Observe and assess behaviors, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to promote positive change.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date care plans and reports, maintaining high standards of record-keeping.
  • Support and supervise care workers, providing guidance and training to ensure the highest level of care.
  • Liaise with external agencies, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with colleagues, young people, and families, promoting a culture of respect and understanding.
  • Attend meetings and contribute to the development of care policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with best practice.
Requirements
  • Minimum of Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with young people in a residential setting, with a focus on learning disabilities or SEBD.
  • Proven leadership skills, with experience of leading a team and promoting positive outcomes.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and wellbeing principles, with a commitment to promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
