Job Overview

EC Resourcing Limited is seeking a skilled Laboratory and Facilities Technician to join their team in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the scientific facilities and equipment are operating safely and effectively, including maintenance and servicing of all key equipment and uninterrupted supply of key research consumables.

Working as part of a team, the Laboratory and Facilities Technician will provide general support for all scientific functions to ensure the smooth running of EC Resourcing Limited's laboratories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performing hands-on practical tasks to support the laboratories, including collecting and arranging cleaning of laundry and laboratory glassware, helping the team to keep the laboratories organised, and coordinating laboratory waste collections.
  • Assisting with basic equipment calibration, as well as equipment maintenance and servicing.
  • Supporting the Safety Officer with H&S duties, such as facilitating PAT test visits and helping with documentation like risk assessments.
  • Reporting building issues to the landlord promptly and following up as required.
  • Providing assistance to the Head of Scientific Operations with other requests, such as help with equipment or laboratory moves or set-up.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a laboratory setting, either in academia or industry, and possess basic computing skills in MS Office Suite software, Outlook, and other relevant software.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in spoken and written English, are essential. The ability to engage with external contacts via email, telephone, and in person is also necessary.
